Sealing is courage, fortitude, faith, and absolute trust in God's power to save. By a life of holy work and living by His commands the children of God are sealing their destiny. The Sealing work is taking place now. When the Lord returns He's bringing His reward with Him. (Revelation 22:12)

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. Revelation 22:11.
When the work of the investigative judgment closes, the destiny of all will have been decided for life or death. Probation ends a short time before the appearance of the Lord in the clouds of heaven.

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Revelation 7:2, 3.
The seal of the living God will be placed upon those only who bear a likeness to Christ in character. As wax takes the impression of the seal, so the soul is to take the impression of the Spirit of God and retain the image of Christ.
It is obedience to the principles of the commandments of God, which molds the character after the divine sameness.
The seal of God’s law is found in the fourth commandment. This only, of all the ten, brings to view both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It declares Him to be the Creator of the heavens and the earth and thus shows His claim to reverence and worship above all others. Aside from this precept, there is nothing in the Decalogue to show by whose authority the law is given.

SIGN ONE
The world offers nothing that satisfies. Success feels hollow. Entertainment feels empty. Even relationships, as good as they might be, can't fill that God-shaped void. If you've experienced this relentless inner call, if you've tried to walk away from God only to find yourself drawn back again, and again, you need to understand something crucial. This isn't happening by accident. The Holy Spirit doesn't pursue random people with this kind of persistence. He's marking you. He's sealing you. He's claiming you as his own. The question is whether you'll finally stop running and surrender to the one who's been calling you all along. But this inner call is just the first sign. And what comes next reveals an even deeper level of the sealing process.
SIGN TWO
When you can no longer be satisfied with spiritual milk, when your soul craves solid food, you're experiencing the second sign of the sealed ones. Ellen White wrote extensively about this hunger for truth, explaining that God's seal is placed upon those who cannot remain content with surface level religion. They’re like miners digging for gold, willing to work through layers of rock and dirt because they know there's treasure beneath the surface, and they won't stop digging until they find it. This hunger manifests in practical ways that set the sealed apart from casual believers. They're the ones staying up late studying prophecy when they should be sleeping. They're the ones asking questions in Bible study that make others uncomfortable because the questions probe too deep.
SIGN THREE
The acute sensitivity to sin is the third unmistakable sign that God's seal is being worked into their characters. Ellen White described this phenomenon with profound insight. She wrote that the sealed one’s weep not only for the sins of others but for their own hearts which are not yet completely pure. The spirit within them refuses to let them become comfortable with compromise. While others can sin and quickly move on, rationalizing their behavior or comparing themselves favorably to worse sinners, the sealed cannot find peace in such shallow comfort.
SIGN FOUR
Silent separation. The fourth sign that God's seal is actively forming in your life. This isn't you becoming judgmental or self-righteous. This isn't you developing a superiority complex. This is the Holy Spirit protecting you by changing your desires, redirecting your affections, and preparing you for complete consecration. Ellen White wrote that before the final ceiling, the Spirit of God performs a pruning in the lives of his people, removing everything that could hinder the soul's growth.
SIGN FIVE
This is the fifth sign of the sealed ones. Resilience that cannot be explained by human strength alone. Ellen White wrote that the sealed are recognized not by the absence of trials but by the serenity with which they face them. American Christianity often preaches a prosperity gospel. Follow God and things will go well. But the sealed ones discover a different truth. Following God often invites increased opposition. Why? Because the enemy recognizes the seal forming in their lives and launches strategic attacks to disrupt the process before it completes. He'll use financial pressure to tempt them to compromise integrity. He'll use relational conflict to tempt them toward bitterness. He'll use health crisis to tempt them to question God's goodness. He'll use every weapon in his arsenal because he knows that once the seal is complete, they're beyond his reach.

SIGN SIX
When prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling and fall back unanswered. When God's presence, once so visible, now feels distant and cold. When you cry out for direction and hear only silence. These are the dark nights of the soul. They're the crucible where the sixth sign of the sealed manifests. Faith that resists God's silence. Ellen White wrote that those being sealed continue firm even when they see no way out because their faith doesn't depend on visible signs but on the invisible presence of the spirit. This kind of faith cannot be manufactured through human willpower. It's forged only through surviving seasons when God seems absent but proves he was there all along.
SIGN SEVEN
When false teaching enters the room, something inside them reacts, even if they can't at once explain why. When deception wears religious clothing, an internal alarm sounds even when others are nodding in agreement. When error poses as truth, they feel spiritual discomfort like an itch they can't scratch.
This is the seventh sign of the sealed supernatural discernment that detects deception.
This is described as the spiritual antenna of the soul. A sensitivity given by the Spirit to protect God's people in the last days when deception is so sophisticated that it would deceive even the elect if that were possible. American Christianity today faces a crisis of discernment. With thousands of voices claiming to speak for God, with countless interpretations of scripture competing for attention, with charismatic leaders building massive followings around questionable doctrines. How can anyone know what's true? The answer for most people is they can't, at least not reliably. They follow whoever sounds most convincing, whoever has the biggest platform, whoever makes them feel best. But the sealed ones operate differently. They're equipped with internal lie detectors calibrated by the Holy Spirit himself. They can hear a sermon that sounds biblically solid to others and sense the subtle poison mixed in. They can read a popular Christian book and feel unease
about teachings most readers accept without question.
SIGN EIGHT
The sealed ones obey God, but their motivation sets them apart from religious rule followers. They don't keep commandments because they're afraid of punishment or hoping to earn salvation. They obey because they love the one who gave the commandments.
This is the eighth sign. Spontaneous obedience flowing from transformed affections rather than forced compliance driven by fear. God's seal is placed upon those who sincerely love truth and express it in acts of obedience even when the world ridicules them. This kind of obedience can't be faked for long. It comes only from hearts genuinely transformed by the sealing process.
SIGN NINE
The spirit is sealing love-based obedience into your character. He's transforming your wants, not just restraining your actions. He's making you the kind of person who naturally chooses God's way because you've fallen in love with God himself. This transformation prepares you for the ultimate test of loyalty that's coming. But this love motivated obedience often comes with a painful cost.
It starts subtly. You're still invited to gatherings, but conversations feel strained. You're still included in group chats, but your comments land awkwardly. You're still technically part of the community, but increasingly you feel like an outsider looking in. Then it becomes more
obvious. Invitations stop coming. Friendships cool. People who once sought your company now seem uncomfortable around you. You haven't become mean or judgmental. You haven't preached at them or condemned them. You've simply changed. and that change makes them uneasy. This is the ninth sign of the sealed rejection by a world you no longer fit. It's painful, but it's also confirmation that you've been set apart for divine purposes.
The world will hate the sealed because they reflect Christ's character so purely that it
becomes an offense to those living in darkness. This isn't theoretical theology. It's practical reality, the sealed experience.
SIGN TEN
But this rejection often triggers the 10th sign which reveals itself in how you feel about time. Time feels different now. Not just busy. Everyone's busy. Something deeper, something more urgent. It's as if your spirit knows something your mind hasn't fully grasped yet. You feel a puzzling pressure to get ready, to prepare, to settle things with God now because later might be too late. You watch world events with different eyes, seeing not just politics or economics, but prophetic significance. You can't shake the sense that something massive is approaching, that history is accelerating toward a climax, that the window of opportunity is closing. This is the 10th sign of the sealed spiritual urgency that won't let you rest in complacency.
SIGN ELEVEN
This is the 11th sign of the sealed, a heart that breaks for what breaks God's heart.
This burden isn't guilt-driven or manufactured. The sealed don't force themselves to care. They simply find that they do care increasingly and overwhelmingly. It's as if the spirit
has connected their emotional circuitry to God's own heart, allowing them to feel echoes of his grief over a world in rebellion. When they see people destroying themselves through sin, they feel pain, not satisfaction. When they see churches compromising truth for popularity, they feel sorrow, not superiority. When they see injustice, corruption, and evil prevailing, they feel the weight of it spiritually, not just intellectually.
SIGN TWELVE
This is the 12th and final sign. The settling peace about your identity in Christ. Ellen White described this as being settled into truth both intellectually and spiritually so that you cannot be moved. This settling is the culmination of the entire ceiling process. This peace isn't the absence of challenges or the end of growth. The sealed still face trials. They still learn and develop. They still battle temptation. But underneath all of life's variables, there's a constant, unshakable foundation that stays firm when everything else shifts. You’ve stopped questioning whether God truly loves you. You've stopped doubting whether you're really his. You've stopped wondering if you'll be gathered. Not because you trust your own righteousness. You trust His. Not because you're confident in your performance. You're confident in His promises. This peace comes from knowing who God is and trusting what He's say’s.
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
(Act 1:10-11)
We cannot know the exact time of Jesus’ return, so we must watch and wait. But there is much to be done as we wait. We can purify our souls by obeying Jesus’ teachings. We can cooperate with angels in reaching out to others with the good news about Jesus. Like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Moses in their times, we have a special warning for our generation.
The signs of the end are all around us and are frightening. As God’s Spirit withdraws from the world, tragedy after tragedy occurs in every land. Earthquakes, fires, floods, crimes, and murder touch every family. Who can feel secure about the future? The end-time crisis is creeping up on us gradually. The sun rises and shines each day, people build houses, and eat and drink. Merchants buy and sell as people struggle to get more money and more power. People search for pleasure and amusement at theaters, sporting events, casinos, and on the internet. But in the middle of all this excitement, the close of probation is rapidly approaching. Every person’s eternal fate will soon be decided. Satan is working overtime to keep us deceived, amused, and busy until the door of heaven is closed forever. “‘So be ready all the time. Pray that you will be strong enough to escape all these things that will happen and that you will be able to stand before the Son of Man’” (Messiah, pp 340).
